The Hendricks County Agricultural Society was organized in 1852, and bought grounds three acres in extent, a mile west of Danville, for fair purposes. Many changes were made, and additions to the grounds were purchased from time to time. Fairs were held annually until 1881, when the society having previously become involved’ in debt, it was totally unable to pay its premiums, and the property was sold.
